Alison Vega, AuD

Dr. Vega brings over twenty years of professional hearing health experience to Olympia.  A native of the Northwest, she obtained her bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Western Washington University and her doctoral degree in Audiology (Au.D.) from Utah State University.  She began her career in Seattle and moved to Olympia in 2004.  Dr. Vega opened her private practice in 2011 so that she could focus on providing specialized treatment for hearing loss, balance, and tinnitus.   Dr. Vega specializes in differential diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss and tinnitus.  She believes that the first step to better hearing begins with a complete diagnostic evaluation.  Dr. Vega is known for a thorough and thoughtful approach to hearing loss treatment and ensures patient goals are met every time.  She feels that objective test measures, using Best Practices, give essential information about how to use hearing aids as a tool.  She values technology and using techniques like real ear verification and electroacoustic measurements allow her to be confident that the tools are operating to the best of their ability.  Once she has all the right tools in place, then she can counsel a patient appropriately through their adjustment process. Joining the Dr. Cliff network allows Dr. Vega to collaborate with audiologists who share her vision for patient care.  Dr. Vega and her team implement Best Practices with every patient and being a part of this network allows them to demonstrate their commitment to gold standard care.  Dr. Vega serves on the Washington State Board of Hearing and Speech and is a member of the board for the Washington Center for Performing Arts.  She volunteers a lot of her time in the community, providing hearing screenings and advocating for those who have hearing loss.  Dr. Vega is the proud recipient of Utah State University's "Outstanding Young Professional" award and the business Examiner’s “40 under 40” award.   Dr. Vega's passion for audiology is strongest when she is educating and counseling a patient.  She loves helping her patients understand why they are having problems and what treatments are available to them.  When she is away from the office, her passion for life is spending time outside, especially when the sun is shining, with her kids and husband.  She loves hiking, listening to music, and boating on Puget sound.‍
