Allison Blackmon, Au.D.

Dr. Allison Blackmon is a board-certified audiologist at Live Better Hearing + Balance's Rockville, MD hearing center who combines advanced clinical expertise with genuine care for every patient she serves. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Hearing and Speech Sciences with a Minor in Linguistics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her Doctor of Audiology degree from Gallaudet University. Dr. Blackmon is fluent in American Sign Language.

Dr. Blackmon is American Board of Audiology Certified (ABAC) and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) and Certificate in Tinnitus Management (CH-TM). She is also a Course Director for Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation, having certified numerous active-duty service members and civilians to perform hearing screenings across the U.S. Department of Defense.

Dr. Blackmon is passionate about the connection between hearing and brain health, particularly how untreated hearing loss affects memory and cognition. In 2024, she authored a paper in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America investigating asymmetrical hearing loss in bimodal listeners - research that directly informs her clinical approach. She believes in taking the time to understand each patient's unique hearing challenges and communication goals before recommending solutions.
