Ashley Wellons, Au.D.

Dr. Ashley Wellons joined Hearing Health Care Services in May 2023. A Raleigh native, she graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. She was pleased to be able to stay at UNC for her graduate work and graduated in 2015 from the Doctor of Audiology program. After graduating, she moved to South Florida and worked in a large ENT clinic for 8 years. Despite loving the variety and experience that a busy ENT clinic provides, she wanted to be able to give more personalized care to patients. In 2023, she moved back to North Carolina and joined Hearing Health Care Services, a small private practice focused on best practices and patient-centered care. Her favorite part of hearing aid fittings and adjustments is conducting Real Ear Measures. The difference in sound quality and access to speech after performing Real Ear is dramatic and allows the hearing aids to be personalized to each individual person and ear! She also enjoys speech in noise testing both with and without hearing aids as this helps capture real-world difficulties that can be missed during standard comprehensive testing.
