Charles Wasserman, Au.D., CCC-A

Originally trained as an auditory neuroscience researcher, Charles Wasserman entered the audiology field to bring his knowledge of auditory neuroscience to those struggling with hearing loss, tinnitus, central auditory processing disorder (CAPD) and sound sensitivities. As a cellist since childhood, Dr. Wasserman particularly loves working with musicians and music-lovers to help protect and maintain their hearing health.

Coming from the research world, attention to detail and best practices are core pillars of Dr. Wasserman's philosophy of care. He ensures that all devices are tested before being fit, and verifies programming using real ear measurements to optimize patient performance. Dr. Wasserman earned his Doctorate in Audiology, graduate certificate in neurobiology of language and Master of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Connecticut, along with his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Hartford. During his graduate studies, he was a National Science Foundation (NSF) fellow, completing special training in the Neurobiology of Language. His residency in Delray Beach, FL, focused on adult and geriatric audiology; especially working with individuals struggling with both hearing loss and cognitive difficulties.

Dr. Wasserman works with patients using both low and high-tech approaches and focuses on the person rather than just their audiogram. In addition to hearing devices, we also offer a structured auditory rehabilitation program as well as evaluations and therapy programs for tinnitus, sound sensitivities, and auditory processing disorders.
