Jeff Akers, M.S.

Jeff Akers, M.S. brings over two decades of audiology experience and a deep commitment to patient care to his role at The Hearing Clinic, which proudly serves southwest Virginia with locations in Salem and two offices in Blacksburg — on Davis Street and Plantation Road. A native of Floyd County, Jeff earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication sciences and disorders from Radford University. He began his career in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he gained valuable experience working alongside ear, nose, and throat physicians and in rehabilitation settings. Jeff joined The Hearing Clinic in 2000 and has since become a trusted provider, known for his compassionate care and technical expertise. His clinical interests include advanced hearing aid technology and vestibular diagnostics for patients experiencing dizziness and balance disorders.

In recognition of his exceptional care and patient rapport, Jeff received the Best Bedside Manner Award from OurHealth Magazine in 2015. Outside the clinic, he enjoys golf, horseback riding, and continuing the family tradition as a skilled third-generation stone mason. Jeff’s dedication to improving lives through better hearing makes him a
valued member of The Hearing Clinic’s team and a familiar, friendly face to patients throughout the New River and Roanoke valleys.
