Hearing aid brands and the places that sell them (big-box stores, online retailers, and one too many practices) spend most of their energy hyping the device. The fitting of that device gets glossed over, though: “Yep, fitting’s included.”

But it’s the fit that decides whether a hearing aid will work in real life—your real life.
