About Phonak EON
Phonak EON is Phonak's latest hearing aid platform and the third generation of the company's Audéo Sphere technology. Earlier Sphere models proved how much a dedicated processing chip could improve speech understanding in noise. EON keeps that performance and rebuilds around it, adding a smaller and lighter body, quicker automatic processing, better control of wind noise, and wide wireless connectivity.
Phonak frames the platform around three goals: adaptive clarity, unlimited connectivity, and intuitive design. It fits the full range of hearing loss, from mild through profound.
There are three versions to choose from:
- Phonak Audéo Sphere EON: The rechargeable receiver-in-canal (RIC) model with Phonak's newest speech-in-noise technology. RIC is the most common hearing aid style, where a small unit sits behind your ear and a thin, nearly invisible wire carries sound to a speaker resting in your ear canal.
- Phonak Audéo R EON: A rechargeable RIC model without the dedicated speech-processing hardware of the Sphere version.
- Phonak CROS R EON: A companion device for people with hearing in only one ear.
Two charger options are available, one of which is portable with its own internal battery for charging on the go.

Hearing Speech in Noise With Phonak EON
The toughest place to wear hearing aids has always been a noisy one: a restaurant, a party, a full family table. EON is built specifically for those rooms.
Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0 is the core feature. It relies on a dedicated AI processor, a separate chip that does nothing but analyze incoming sound, to pull speech apart from background noise, strengthen it, and fold it back into what you hear. Phonak reports up to 50% better speech understanding compared with advanced directional microphone technology and up to 37% less listening effort. It now reaches three performance levels instead of just the top two, and runs on the new Hypersonic chip, which Phonak reports is 25% more efficient than the chip it replaces.
AutoSense OS AI 8.0 reads your surroundings and adjusts your settings automatically, so moving from a quiet office into a loud lobby does not mean reaching for your phone. In EON it responds faster to sudden shifts and keeps Spheric Speech Clarity on in more situations. The fitting formula behind your programming has also been updated to APD 4.0.
WindBlock 2.0 tackles a problem anyone who walks, golfs, or cycles will recognize, the roar of wind striking the microphones. It trims that turbulence by up to 50 dB while holding on to as much as 30 dB of signal-to-noise ratio benefit, so the wind drops away without taking the conversation with it. More than 90% of participants in Phonak's testing found it more natural, and it works at every performance level.
Connectivity, Streaming, and Auracast
At the heart of EON's wireless features is Phonak's Era connectivity chip, which pairs with a wide range of Bluetooth devices and turns your hearing aids into a hands-free headset for phone and video calls. You can link them to phones, computers, tablets, and televisions, with two-way audio that carries your voice through the hearing aid microphones, so no separate headset is needed.
The platform also includes built-in RogerDirect support. Roger microphones are Phonak accessories, worn by a speaker or set on a table, that beam a voice straight to your hearing aids. They are among the most effective tools for hearing over distance or in a very loud room, and RogerDirect lets you use them without clipping an extra receiver onto your device.
Native Auracast support rounds out the connectivity. Auracast is a new public broadcast standard that sends audio directly to your hearing aids, taking the place of the older telecoil loop systems. Where a venue offers it, you tune in much like connecting to Wi-Fi. You may find it in places such as:

EON works with the myPhonak and myPhonak Junior apps, which let you adjust volume, switch programs, and manage your hearing aids from your phone.
Design, Battery, and Charging
Size is the first thing you notice about EON. It is 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the previous Sphere generation, in a standard rechargeable RIC form, and it comes in eight colors. Shrinking a hearing aid that carries a second dedicated processing chip is no small task, and the smaller housing makes a real difference for anyone who wears glasses or found earlier Sphere models bulky behind the ear.
The battery is rated for more than a full day, up to roughly 22 hours even under heavy use that includes streaming and time in noisy places. Charging from empty to full takes about 2.5 hours. There is also an optional portable charging case with its own built-in battery, so you can recharge while away from an outlet.
For people with hearing in one ear only, the Phonak CROS R EON transmitter pairs with the Audéo R EON. A CROS system captures sound on the side that cannot be aided and sends it across to your better ear, so a conversation no longer depends on where the other person happens to be sitting.
