About Oticon Reveal

Oticon Reveal is Oticon's next-generation rechargeable receiver-in-canal (RIC) hearing aid platform. Rather than trying to strip away as much background sound as possible, Reveal is designed to find an individualized balance between speech clarity and environmental awareness. Oticon refers to this as the user's "balance point."

Reveal represents Oticon's third generation of AI-based hearing aid technology, following Oticon More and Oticon Intent. It stays consistent with Oticon's longstanding philosophy of giving the brain access to the broader sound environment instead of aggressively removing it. What is new on this platform comes down to three things:

  • A dual-AI processing system that handles speech and environmental sound as two separate tasks
  • An updated feedback prevention system that creates more room to deliver prescribed amplification
  • A redesigned connectivity platform with improved streaming range and stability

Pros

Cons

Oticon Reveal's Dual-AI Sound Processing

Most hearing aids use a single processing strategy to decide what to amplify and what to suppress. Oticon Reveal takes a different approach, using two AI-based systems that run together in real time:

  • Speech AI: Analyzes and enhances speech.
  • Context AI: Preserves meaningful sounds from the surrounding environment.

The two systems analyze the sound environment every two milliseconds and work together to balance speech and context. In practical terms, this is intended to let you follow a conversation clearly without losing track of what else is happening around you, whether that is a doorbell, a car approaching, or someone speaking from another part of the room.

Reveal AI Clarifier is the part of the hearing aid where the dual-AI system processes speech and environmental sounds. It replaces the MoreSound Intelligence terminology used on previous Oticon platforms.

4D Sensor Technology continues from the previous platform. The sensors evaluate your behavior and your listening situation before the hearing aid determines how sound should be processed, so the device responds to what you are actually doing rather than to the acoustic environment alone.

Oticon describes Reveal as providing its best speech clarity and access to environmental sound to date, with stronger noise suppression than the previous platform.

Reveal also introduces the Reveal Optimizer, Oticon's updated feedback prevention system. Feedback is the whistling sound hearing aids sometimes make, and preventing it often forces a provider to turn amplification down below what your hearing actually needs. The Reveal Optimizer is designed to stop whistling faster and more precisely, so your hearing care professional can give you more of the amplification your prescription calls for, especially in the high frequencies where speech clarity matters most. This is particularly helpful for open fittings that keep your ear canal from feeling plugged.

Connectivity and Streaming

Oticon Reveal includes a new connectivity platform and radio transmitter, with improved wireless streaming range and connection stability compared with Oticon Intent. In everyday use, that should mean fewer dropouts when your phone is in a pocket or across the room.

Connectivity features include:

  • Made for iPhone compatibility: Direct streaming of calls, music, and other audio from Apple devices.
  • Optimized Android connectivity: Direct streaming support for compatible Android phones.
  • Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio: A newer Bluetooth standard that uses less power and supports higher quality streaming.
  • Google Fast Pair: Simplifies the pairing process with Android devices.
  • Auracast broadcast audio: Lets you receive audio broadcast in public venues such as theaters, airports, and places of worship directly through your hearing aids.

Reveal also adds Streaming Comfort, a feature that automatically reduces surrounding environmental sound while audio is being streamed, helping phone calls, music, and podcasts stay prominent in noisy settings. The amount of reduction can be adjusted through the mobile app or set by your hearing care professional in the fitting software, so the balance between your streamed audio and your surroundings can be matched to your preference.

Charging, CROS Support, and Color Options

Oticon Reveal uses Oticon's existing premium charging hardware. Both a desktop charger and a portable travel charger are available, so you can keep a charger at home and carry a second one when you travel.

A new Oticon CROS transmitter is being introduced alongside the Reveal platform. A CROS system is used for single-sided deafness, taking sound from the ear that cannot be aided and routing it to the better hearing ear. Key features include:

  • Compatibility with the Reveal desk charger and the Reveal travel charger
  • Near-field magnetic induction
  • Bluetooth Low Energy Audio
  • Dual streaming
  • Signal processing applied on the transmitter side
  • Backward compatibility with supported Oticon products

Being able to use matching chargers for both the hearing aid and the CROS transmitter is a meaningful day-to-day improvement for CROS users, who have historically had to manage separate charging hardware.

Oticon Reveal will be available in several standard hearing aid colors, including a new Deep Plum option that replaces the previous blue.

Finding Oticon Reveal Near You

Oticon Reveal is most likely to suit patients who value natural and open sound quality, awareness of their surroundings, speech clarity without aggressively removing environmental sound, open or vented fittings, strong feedback management, and reliable wireless performance. Patients who want the strongest possible reduction of background sound may still prefer a different processing strategy. Reveal follows Oticon's approach of preserving access to the broader sound environment rather than eliminating it, and the right choice depends on your hearing loss, your listening priorities, and where you struggle most.

The hearing aid you choose matters less than the person programming it. Prioritizing a hearing care professional who adheres to Best Practices, including Real Ear Measurement for every fitting, is what determines whether you actually receive the amplification your prescription calls for. That is especially relevant with a platform like Reveal, where the added headroom in the Reveal Optimizer is only useful if your provider is verifying output in your ear.

Our network of hearing healthcare professionals is dedicated to following these Best Practices. Find a HearingUp provider today to know whether Oticon Reveal is the right fit for your hearing needs.
